Best-selling coffee machines – 2013

I have made a list of the three best selling coffee machines in the categories, espresso machines, drip coffeemakers and single serve brewers. The list is based on the sales record from and hopefully gives you an idea of what to get yourself.

Best-selling drip coffeemakers

1. Mr.Coffee BVMC-SJX33GT

Mr. Coffee BVMC SJX-33GT 12 cup drip coffee maker

The Mr.Coffee BVMC-SJX33GT has been around awhile, but it still on top. What makes this drip coffeemaker a winner is the low price and useful functions. This machine is programmable with a timer function so you can have coffee waiting for you when you get up in the morning. The brew pause is another neat function that let you have a cup before the whole carafe is finished brewing.

2. Cuisinart DCC-1200 Brew Central

Cuisinart DCC-1200 Brew CentralThe Cuisinart DCC-1200 is a good looking drip coffeemaker that is available in 9 different colors. I personally like the red best, but you can also have it in chrome, brushed steel, black, blue, green, orange, pink and purple. You can brew as little as 1 cup with the 1- to 4-cup feature which makes it almost like a single serve brewer. It has of course all the other features like, automatic shut-off, brew pause, programmable and others.

Best-selling espresso machines

1. De’Longhi EC155

De'Longhi EC155 Espresso and Cappuccino Maker

The De’Longhi EC155 is a relatively inexpensive entry-level espresso machine. Despite this it has all the features you want on an espresso machine. The machine is pump driven with a pressure of 15 bar which ensures the espresso shot gets a thick layer of crema. The temperature is controlled by two separate thermostats, one for the brewing and one for the steam wand. I have made plenty of espressos and lattes with this machine and can recommend it to people wanting to take the step in to the world of espresso. I only switched out this EC155 because I wanted something more advanced.

2. De’Longhi EC702

De'Longhi EC702 espresso maker

The EC702 is also an entry-level espresso machine by De’Longhi. It cost a bit more than the EC155 but is slightly more advanced. Pull espressos by either using ground coffee or more convenient E.S.E. pods. While the machine starts the pre-heat process you can warm up your cups on top of the machine. The pump driven system with 15 bar pressure ensures the quality of espresso shot is top notch. If you like cappuccinos or lattes better the steaming wand can make milk to thick foam.

3. Mr.Coffee ECM160

Mr.Coffee ECM160 4 cup steam espresso machineMr.Coffee ECM 160 allows you to brew 4 cups (20oz.) of espresso in one go. Perfect if you have guest and want to serve them a cup each of your best cappuccino. Unfortunately the machine won’t make espresso with crema  on top since it is only steam driven and can’t produce enough pressure. If you mostly drink espresso I would personally bought a pump driven machine instead. But if you are more of a cappuccino or latte kind of person this is a great machine.

Best-selling single serve brewers

1. De’Longhi Lattissima Plus

De'Longhi Lattissima Plus single serve brewer

DeLonghi Lattissima Plus is a great single serve brewer which uses Nespresso capsules. What I love about this machine is how easy I can make lattes and cappuccinos. I can actually make a latte with just a push of a button. The removable milk frother steams the milk to thick foam and adds it automatically to your beverage. When I am finished I can simply push the self-cleaning button and detach the frother and store it in the fridge. If you are interested in making great lattes fast and easy this is a great machine.
